The 2024 Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOLQ) exam will take place between 18 – 26 November. The DPSI qualification is recognised by the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI), the UK Ministry of Justice (MOJ) for work in the criminal justice system (CJS) and also by the UK Police Approved Interpreters and Translators Scheme (PAIT) . The DPSI qualification is also recognised by OFQUAL as a Level 6 qualification (roughly first year university level) so success is not automatically guaranteed!
It is available fully online so you can sit the exam from anywhere including from the comfort of your own home. The exam comprises 5 units which will test your oral interpreting skills and also your written translation skills. We will go through numerous past examination papers with you and will help you to prepare the glossaries you will need of all relevant vocabulary.
